Blog Post #6
I actually really like the blogging process. I've always enjoyed writing and being able to write with guidelines but little to no regulations is really nice. I like that it gives me the chance to reflect on what we've done in the class, or form my own opinion on topics that I hadn't thought extensively about before. I think I've learned a lot about personal reflection, and how my thoughts go a lot deeper that I had originally seen on the surface level. It also gives me a chance to hone in on my writing skills in a low risk environment, so I can practice articulating and communicating my thoughts in a way that's clear and effective.
A web tool that I'd use in my future classroom with my students is Quizlet. I love Quizlet because it takes information and puts it into a variety of different formats for learning including flashcards, games, and quizzes. This allows the student to work and learn in the way that they prefer and learn the information best. I can also share access to the sets to make Quizlet a collaborative effort in the classroom, where every student can contribute an example, or an answer, and they can learn from one another once the set is complete.

Generative AI isn't something that I've used often, but my initial experiences with it have all been, for the most part, positive. I've used it to look up theorists we talk about in my class, and just ask it for a synopsis of their theories or beliefs to better understand what their perspectives are on the materials we're discussing in class. This has been really helpful for the most part to categorize people by theory when we are talking about what feels like a million people at once. The only thing I've noticed that sometimes doesn't work is when I'm using it to check my answers, and it'll come up with something different and sometimes ultimately wrong.
I think generative AI can be used in my future classroom to benefit both me as an educator and my students as learners. I can use generative AI to expand on information or materials that I already have to make the educational experience as effective as possible for my students. I can also use generative AI to work around language barriers. The grades that I am wanting to teach have students who are really young, and in a lot of ways are still growing their own vocabularies in their native languages. Language barriers are hard on the students who are emerged in a language they don't have a full understanding of, and are expected to learn in. Using generative AI to translate can help me make sure my students are understanding and comprehending the material and makes it a lot easier on their learning process.
